Rosemount Analytical Categories
Rosemount Analytical offers an extensive range of instrumentation designed to provide precise, reliable measurements and control across diverse industries. These categories include advanced analyzers, sensors, and transmitters, tailored for monitoring critical parameters in process control, environmental compliance, and safety. From combustion analysis to conductivity measurement, Rosemount Analytical solutions ensure high performance in even the most demanding industrial environments.
Combustion Analyzers
Rosemount Analytical's combustion analyzers provide a continuous, accurate measurement of the oxygen and combustibles remaining in flue gases from a combustion process. The time-tested and world renowned zirconium oxide sensor is the basis for the oxygen measurement. The ability to get real time diagnostic information as well as the measurement variables over the Fieldbus data highway makes the use of these analytical devices even easier.
Gas Detectors
Rosemount Analytical gas detectors provide continuous monitoring for combustible hydrocarbon gases in harsh environments where dust, fog, rain, snow or vibration can cause obstruction. These devices utilize either infrared or ultraviolet flash technology and have a range detection of up to 660ft (200m) depending on the configuration.
Oxygen Analyzers
Rosemount Analytical offers a number of transmitters designed to measure the amount of oxygen in a given sample. Several of those options are intrinsically safe, designed for use in hazardous areas. Signal conditioning electronics reside in the head of each probe, eliminating the need for expensive signal cable. A dual-channel operator interface unit provides an easy-to-use method of setting up the instrument, calibrating, and diagnosing failures.
Oxygen Transmitters
Rosemount Analytical oxygen transmitters and analyzers quantify the amount of oxygen in a sample. Oxygen is integral to combustion and a powerful corrosive that can contaminate or create hazardous conditions. The 4000 or 6888 In-Situ oxygen transmitters, as well as the 5081FG or CX1100 In-Situ oxygen analyzers, will provide reliable results with low maintenance, even in extreme environments.

Boiler Feedwater
Feedwater is essential to boiler operations. As water is heated to steam and circulated throughout the system, it must be resupplied from returning condensate or, sometimes, from fresh water. Flow meters are useful for measuring the flow rates of both steam and feedwater.
Brewing & Fermentation
Brewing and fermentation are complex arts that require skill, good ingredients, and a little help from technology. Though we know that brewing and fermenting have been going on for millennia without the help of temperature controllers, temperature probes, and other technology, we can’t help but think that it would have been a whole lot easier had that technology been available. Technology helps maintain precise conditions allowing you to make a more consistent product and freeing you up to concentrate on big things while it takes care of the details.
Clean Water
Clean water applications are fairly straightforward. Without chemical compatibility concerns or worries about entrained solids or bubbles, there are few limitations on the type of equipment that can be used or the materials with which it can contact. The exception to this is applications involving drinking water. Any materials that come into contact with drinking water must comply with NSF/ANSI 61: Drinking Water System Components-Health Effects, a set of national standards developed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Corrosives
Caustic and corrosive chemicals, by definition, damage and corrode materials with which they come into contact. In applications which require measurement of these chemicals, it is necessary that the measuring technology either does not require contact, like ultrasonic, or that the parts of the instrument that come into contact are made of materials that do not react to the chemicals being measured.
DI/RO Water
Both reverse osmosis (RO) and de-ionization (DI) are techniques to purify water. Reverse osmosis relies on forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane to filter out impurities and is commonly used in desalinization and the production of drinking water. De-ionization is a chemical process that removes most chemical ions from water. Both techniques are commonly used in commercial and industrial applications as a way to remove contaminants that may interfere with processes, or leave residues upon evaporation. They are particularly common in the semiconductor, food/beverage, and pharmaceutical industries which need large amounts of very pure water.
Explosive or Hazardous Areas
Hazardous locations are defined as places where fire or explosion hazards may exist due to the presence of flammable gases, vapors, dust, or fibers. Due to the inherent danger in these areas, equipment must be approved for use in such locations. Such approvals confirm that a products has been tested and certified to conform to standards mandated by the European directive ATEX or another standards organization such as NEMA.
Intrinsically safe
Intrinsically safe is a designation given by certifying agencies that electrical instruments have been designed and manufactured to operate safely in hazardous environments. This is generally accomplished by limiting the electrical and thermal energy to below the level that can cause the ignition of flammable gases and/or dust.
Products are tested and certified intrinsically safe by a number of independent certifying agencies including Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), Factory Mutual Research Corporation (FM) and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
Oil, Gas and Petrochemical
Applications involving oil, gas, and petrochemicals require a specific set of features to safely and accurately measure flow, level and other parameters. Owing to the flammable/explosive nature of these products, Intrinsic Safety and/or Explosion-Proof approvals should be considered imperative for all equipment used with them.
Oil, gas, and petrochemicals have other properties that influence the type of equipment that must be used with them. Among these properties are the viscosity of some petrochemicals along with the reactive nature of some petrochemicals. Care must be taken to select instruments compatible with the medium.
Paper
An impressive array of consumer products are made of paper and paper products. Understanding the effects of moisture on these products during their manufacture, storage, and use is a critical component of quality control. Too much moisture during the manufacture of paper products can cause poor cohesion allowing products to fall apart. High moisture during storage can lead to mold issues. High moisture during use, as in printing, can cause the paper to curl, jamming machines and causing other problems.
A high quality moisture meter with a blade-style electrode is an effective means of ensuring the moisture content of paper and paper products is within specification.
Power Generation
Most power produced is generated by using the same basic method. Whether coal, gas, nuclear, biomass or co-generation, these plants heat water to produce steam which is used to spin a turbine attached to a generator. Maintaining and troubleshooting these processes require a wide array of tools depending upon the specific process. Such tool include: electrical test tools to identify faults, pressure and flow instruments to ensure adequate water and steam, and inspection scopes and material testers to check for corrosion or damage.
Utilities
Utilities are the infrastructure that provides electricity, natural gas, water and sewage, and telecommunications to our homes and places of business. These essential services require specialized tools to maintain the complex systems and troubleshoot should problems arise. We offer a wide range of highly accurate industrial and commercial-grade tools well-suited for work on utilities. Of course, the tools needed to run a water treatment plant differ significantly from the tools needed to run an electrical substation.
Waste-water and Grey Water
The primary consideration in waste-water and grey water applications is the ability of the instruments to accurately function in the presence of solids. Most instruments are not designed to be compatible with solids. As a result, they may contain obstructions or other elements that can make the instrument susceptible to fouling which could lead to inaccurate readings or a total system malfunction.
Water Quality
Water quality is a general term referring to the chemical, physical, biological and radiological characteristics of water—essentially a measure of the condition of water relative to what it is being used for. This definition acknowledges that the properties of water needed for an industrial application differ from those needed for a municipal drinking water system.
